I recently tried Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce. I am generally not a big fan of the generic sauces such as A-1 or Heinz 57. I am a firm believer that most of the time there is a sauce that you can make or buy that is specific to the dish you are making. For the most part I hardly ever use Heinz 57, except in the occasional meat loaf. The only things I use A-1 for is to pour on some mash potatoes or dip some Texas style toast in.
But either way, I decided to give this one a shot. The consistency of the sauce is a bit thicker than A-1 but not as thick as Heinz 57. First thing I did was of course to pour some on a spoon and take a test. Definitely noticed right off the bat that it was full of flavor. Now the dilemma, what to try it on? Their site recommends to try it on just about everything. Steaks, burgers, fries, chicken, pork… So first thing I did was to pour some over some meat loaf and mash potatoes. Definitely had a good flavor that complimented the dishes. Now, I very rarely even put BBQ sauce on my briskets, but decided to give the sauce a shot on some left over brisket. I will probably never do this again, as a good brisket needs no sauce, but it was definitely excellent!
I used the general all purpose sauce, but they have additional sauces for sale:
- Spicy All Purpose sauce
- Barbeque Sauce
- Seasoning Salt
Their site also contains a lot of recipes to try, and there are sure a handful that I will be trying (unfortunately will be a while with this current freeze we are under)
I would give this sauce the highest rating for general all purpose sauces out there!

Oh, neat! I love it when I find a sauce or seasoning that I actually really like. Count me in for your contest. My favorite animal to grill, hands down, has to be the cow. Nothing better than a good grilled sirloin.

I love to grill squirrel legs! Especially when people think they are chicken wings! Bring on the free sauce!
Hey Jason…. fun contest. I have to agree with Jessie – I like the COW!
I’m always trying new sauces, usually my own. I love COW, but PORK is more challenging. So PORK is my favorite!
Thanks for the contest!
I am sorry to say that I can never be a vegetarian, ever, and that I love beef on the grill above all others.
umm, I guess I am in the minority here because without Grumpy I would probably be a vegetarian. My favorite meat to cook for Grumpy (because it is the only one I can do well hehe) is cow. I can grill burgers and I can do a great london broil. Guess I have a lot to learn!
Hey Jason!
Always nice to find a new BBQ sauce. My favorite grilling meat is seafood, such as grilled salmon, tuna, swordfish, or blackened catfish on the cast iron griddle over open coals.
Hi Jason!
No doubt for me beef meat…I’m in the country of cows everywhere!

The other white meat all the way!
Without question my favorite animal to smoke on my Big Green Egg, is da pig! I loves me some butt, Pork butt that is! Slow smoked at 225*F for about 12-15 hours, after a good ole rubbin of course. Please send me some SAUCE!
Not cheap, but colossal shrimp are great on the grill!
Thanks for all the comments! The winner of the bottle of sauce is comment #2. I will be contacting you to get information for the delivering the bottle of sauce.
